S:1 Samuel 18:1-9

O: After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself.( 1 Samuel 18:1 NIV) As we chose to walk in the ways of God people around us will also be drawn to us.

A: Read God’s words daily and walk in the ways of God rather than man.

P: Dear God, thank you for not giving up on me even though many times I chose to go my own way which is not pleasing in your sight. God I want to ask for your forgiveness for that. God I want to commit all my days into your hands to do things and walk in ways that are pleasing in your sight. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

S: 1 Samuel 18:10-16

O: Saul was afraid of David, because the Lord was with David but had left Saul. In everything he did he had great success, because the Lord was with him. (1 Samuel 18:12, 14) As the presence of the Lord was with David nothing can stand against him and there was success and fruitfulness in things he does God presence comes with the favor from the Lord.

A: Daily soak in God’s presence and not forget the AHA moment with the Lord all the days of my life.

P: Dear God, there was moment which I am lost and I take for granted the grace of yours. God I want to draw near you each and every day. Read your word, pray to you, worship you and listen to your voice. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

S: 1 Samuel 18: 17-30

O: David which is a man after God’s heart did not give in to the plans of Saul to marry his first daughter and his respond to Saul was very humble although he was more success than Saul and any other officers. I believe David seek the Lord on who he should take as his wife and how he should face each battle with the Philistines.

A: Always seek the plans of the Lord rather than giving in to the plans of man. Listen to God’s still small voice.

P: Dear God, I know that as man we are weak in the flesh which we will seek after our selfish and sinful desire rather than your will for us. God today I chose to make a stand to seek your will rather than the plans of this world that is not from you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

S: 1 Samuel 19:1-7

O: Jonathan is playing the role as a intercessor by standing in the gap between David and Saul to help them reconcile. Saul was Jonathan Father and David is consider his brother and he love both of them. Jonathan try to influence Saul by reminding him how David had helped and served him.

A: We can play the role of Jonathan today to be a intercessor by influencing our friend and pray for them to know the Lord.

P: Dear God, give me a heart of compassion, discipline and wisdom to intercede for my friend. So that they can know how great you are and how much you love them. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

S: 1 Samuel 19:8-24

O: God will never leave us nor forsake us. Saul’s man and Saul was filled with the spirit and they started prophesying, they forgot about finding and killing David. God has the authority over all the evil spirit in the world which Saul was set free from evil spirit when the Holy Spirit filled him.

A: Grab hold of the identity and authority in Christ never to be fearful.

P: Dear God, I am thankful and please to be your child in the kingdom which I have the identity that is made perfect in and through you. I know that I need not to be fearful of the things of the world but just you. Your perfect love cast out all fear. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

S: 1 Samuel 20:1-11

O: Jonathan continue to be in the gap between Saul and David to help them reconcile. It reminds me that the journey will never be easy as we stand in the gap to intercede for our friends to know the Lord. There will be times that work and there will be times which doesn’t work at all.

A: Never give up on the journey to intercede for my friends because I will never know how small the gap is left in between if I don't give it a try.

P: Dear God, I admit that many a times I just give up easier even giving it a try. I repent for having such small faith in you and how you can use me to reach out to my friends out there. God I ask that you will lead me to speak the right words to my friends at the right time. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

S: 1 Samuel 20:12-23

O: When you walking in ways of God our God will preserve us from evil and danger which we cannot bear within our limit. God send Jonathan to be the one that lead David away from the danger. As David grow deeper in the Lord, as he walk closer to the plans of God for him the devil works even stronger to lead him away from the plans of God. The devil threaten David’s life and safety to give up walking the path of faithfulness and righteousness. If the path we are taking is easy in the kingdom of God we might need to reflect are we working effective in the kingdom of God. We are not making any impact in the spiritual realm that threaten the devil.

A: Work towards been fruitful in the kingdom of God. Reach out to my friend and read God’s words daily.

P: Dear God, I chose to come to you today to reexamine my journey with you for this 7 years. God I ask that you will lead me or ask someone to show me the cause of me not growing throughout this few years of my walk with you. God I look forward to the fruit and breakthrough you going to plant in my life. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

S: 1 Samuel 20:24-34

O: As long as the son of Jesse lives on this earth, neither you nor your kingdom will established. Now send and bring him to me, for he must die! (1 Samuel 20:31) Many times we blame the devil for tempting us or blame God for giving us something we can bear. But we are given freewill from God to make choice on our own. Which we chose to give in to our selfish desire which opens a door to the impurity to come into our life. When we realized how far we had gone the door is really wide open for the devil to go in and out freely instill lies and guilt in us. But is never too late to confess and ask for forgiveness from the Lord.

A: Be mindful of the choices of words, actions, emotions and responds I have towards people around. Question myself does it display God’s likeness and character.

P: Dear God, I know that many times I had disappointed you in the choices I made which is not pleasing in your sight. God I chose to repent and confess my sins to you today and start afresh. God thank your love and grace which is enough for me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

S: 1 Samuel 20:35-42

O: Jonathan relationship with David was so deep that is willing to go against his Father Saul’s idea to help David escape. Jonathan really value David so much that over time he try to test his Father whether is he going to take away David life. I really question myself how much I really care about the eternal death which my friend might be facing if he/she does not know the Lord.

A: Pray and ask God to give me the heart of compassion and burden for my friends to get to know the Lord.

P: Dear God, give me a heart of compassion burden to really see my friends get save. Leading you to be their Lord and savior of their life Lord. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

20 Mar 2014

S: 1 Samuel 21:1-9

O: As David ran away from the danger he was desperately in need of food and weapon. There he met a priest which is able to provide him with the bread and the weapon he can use to protect himself. When we in the journey with the Lord he will provide us with what we need just in time and enough, never too late, early, much or little.

A: Always be assure that the Lord will provide when we on the mission he send out to. Never to be worried, pray and go in faith.

P: Dear God, thank you for many instances which I am challenge by you to have faith in you. God thank you using me to serve others which I need to step out of my comfort zone. It is those moment which I am able to see how much I have grown and how much I needed you to be my source of confident, energy and wisdom. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

21 Mar 2014

S: 1 Samuel 21:10-15

O: David took these words to heart and was very much afraid of Achish King of Gath. So he pretended to be insane in their presence; and while he was in their hands he acted like a madman, making marks on the doors of the gate and letting saliva run down his beard. (1 Samuel 21:12-13 NIV) Due to the fear David felt he forgot about the identity and authority he has as God’s children and chosen one. David had forgotten how God provided and help him till where he are now due to fear. David was crippled by fear to move on and behave normally like a sound man. We are to have faith instead of fear.

A: Have faith rather than fear in all circumstance. We are to fear God rather than man or the circumstances.

P: Dear God, I admit that I am faithless in you as I am easily affected by fear of failure in my studies and fear of rejection from my friends to come for church event. God I will learnt to rely on you and fear you instead of the circumstances. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

22 Mar 2014

S: 1 Samuel 22:1-10

O: No one tells me when my son makes a covenant with the son of Jesse. None of you is concerned about me or tells me that my son has incited my servant to lie in wait for me, as he does today. (1 Samuel 22:8 NIV) Whenever we are walking away from God and bad things happen to us we will blame God and blame others around us and not ourselves. Saul who is the Father of Jonathan should be aware of what his son is doing and what friends is he making. Saul had to be responsible of the relationship between him and his son as to why his son never tell him about the covenant he had with David. When we are away from God we cannot see the blind spot which other can help us too.

A: Take the initiative today to find out the root of the cause of problem and not blame others.

P: Dear God, I know that at times I will blame other when things happen negatively. But Lord I want to repent for pushing the blames to others when things turn out badly. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

23 Mar 2014

S: 1 Samuel 22:11-23

O: Was that day the first time I inquired of God for him? Of course not! Let not the king accuse your servant or any of his father’s family, for your servant knows nothing at all about this whole affair. (1 Samuel 22:15 NIV) There are many times we often forgot about the chain effect that take place when we make certain decision. But one thing we must be clear is that are we walking in the plans and path of God. If we are walking in the plans and paths of God, we can rest assure that God is in control.

A: We are to make sure that things we doing are according to God plans, purpose and will which we can cross reference to the words in the bible.

P: Dear God, sorry that at times I chose to go my own way which I end up losing myself in the process of losing my way. God I chose to come back to you and walk in your ways. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

24 Mar 2014

S: 1 Samuel 23:1-14

O: David stayed in the wilderness strongholds and in the hills of the desert of Ziph. Day after day Saul searched for him, but God did not give David into his hands. (1 Samuel 23:14 NIV) There were many times which we found ourselves been caught by many things in life like our studies, work, relationship and finance. But we never got caught up totally because God will always come to the rescue just in time. Just like David who learnt to trust God more as Saul gets nearer to catch him.

A: Learnt to trust God in his plans in the right timing.

P: Dear God, thank you for giving me a plan even before I am born on this earth. God I will learnt to trust you in the plan you have for me in the right timing. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

25 Mar 2014

S: 1 Samuel 23:15-29

O: Saul was going along one side of the mountain, and David and his men were on the other side, hurrying to get away from Saul. As Saul and his forces were closing in on David and his men to capture them, a messenger came to Saul, saying, “Come quickly! The Philistines are raiding the land.” (1 Samuel 23:26-27 NIV) God is indeed faithful and gracious to David which he protected him from Saul. Although Saul had people to give him the location where David is, he is able to get near but not the actual place where David is at. I must always believe the impossible that will come through Christ.

A: Never give up on the possible outcome which Christ can bring through our life.

P: Dear God, I admit that I really have very small faith but God I want to learn to trust you in greater things. God use me to testify your greatness. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

26 Mar 2014

S: 1 Samuel 24:1-15

O: David who was been threatening by Saul chose not to take his life. David chose to cut a piece of Saul’s clothes to show that he does not have the intention to kill him or rebel against him. 以德服人是大卫所选择的道路。大卫并不认为人家进他一尺他就要进人家一丈。David was wise enough to give in so that no one will be hurt in the cave. Give in does not show that we are stupid but we are wise enough to take care of a bigger picture.

A: Give in and be confident of the decision rather than thinking what I had lost when I give in.

P: Dear God, I know that I can only find the greatest wisdom through your words and through the plan you have for me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

27 Mar 2014

S: 1 Samuel 24:16-22

O: Saul finally realized that David is never going to harm him and he finally admit that David he more suitable to be the king of Israel. Saul finally fall to his feet to receive the forgiveness from David no matter how bad he wanted to kill David. The attitude which David have towards Saul is how God have towards us no matter how much we had sin and how far we had walk from him. God will always be there waiting for us to reconcile with him.

A: Come to God every day to ask for his forgiveness and walk with him closely every day.

P: Dear God, I ask that you will forgive me so that I will be able to come back to you and walk closely with you all the days of my life. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

28 Mar 2014

S: 1 Samuel 25:1-13

O: David who was a well recognize officer in the kingdom is asking Nabal for bread and water but Nabal chose to act that he does not know David is. Nabal never think through his wealth come from the effort David put in to expand the kingdom.

A: Whenever God want us to surrender or give him the things he want of us we are to give it to him. As God is the one who blessed with the things we had.

P: Dear God, Sorry that at times we really grab hold very tight to things you had bless us with. God I chose to surrender and give you the things you want. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

29 Mar 2014

S: 1 Samuel 25:14-22

O: The Servant and Abigail both display excellent wisdom and character. The servant chose to report to his master’s wife Abigail which is wiser than his master about what the master had respond to David and how great David had help them take care of the flocks. Whereas Abigail was wise enough to prepare the foods and water to send to David before he go after her household. Both the servant and Abigail was enough to be fearful of David instead of Nabal.

A: We are to be fearful of God instead of man.

P: Dear God, sorry that at times I am fearful of man instead of you. God I ask that you will change my heart so that I can be fearful of you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

30 Mar 2014

S: 1 Samuel 25:23-35

O: May you be blessed for your good judgment and for keeping me from bloodshed this day and from avenging myself with my own hands. Otherwise, as surely as the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, who has kept me from harming you, if you had not come quickly to meet me, not one male belonging to Nabal would have been left alive by daybreak. ( 1 Samuel 25:33-34 NIV) Abigail was able to be in time to stop David from attacking Nabal and the whole household. Abigail was able to speak words of encouragement and affirmation upon David as he go through the tough time of running away from Saul. I believe the words Abigail word was not from herself but from the Lord.

A: I will ask God for wisdom and the right words to speak in times which I am given the chance to speak with someone that has greater authority.

P: Dear God, ask that you will use me to speak words of encouragement, affirmation and love to people who does not know you yet. Lord I am willing to be your mouthpiece to share your love. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

31 Mar 2014

S: 1 Samuel 25:36-44

O: Then in the morning, when Nabal was sober, his wife told him all these things, and his heart failed him and he became like a stone. About ten days later, the Lord struck Nabal and he died. ( 1 Samuel 25:37-38 NIV) Abigail can chose not to tell her husband Nabal what she had done but she chose to tell him the truth. After Nabal know what happened and how his wife had saved the whole household he chose to harden his heart. God was merciful to give him another 10 days to think through before he struck him to death.

A: When God show his warning for the first time I will chose to repent and not harden my heart.

P: Dear God, sorry that at times I chose to harden my heart rather than repenting to the Lord. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
